Zhanna Alkhazova '02, M.A. '03 (community planning) is currently completing a second master's degree at the Boston University School of Music and studies with the renowned soprano Maria Spacagna. She has performed with such companies as Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Boston, Opera Providence, MIT Gilbert and Sullivan Players, Vocal Arts, MassTheatrica, OperaWorks of Los Angeles, CA, OperaHub, Longwood Opera and Opera del West. Her upcoming engagements include the roles of the Second Lady in Mozart’s Magic Flute and Berta in Rossini’s Il Barbiere of Siviglia, both mainstage productions as part of the Boston University Opera Institute. In May of 2008, she will be singing the role of Zemfira in Rachmaninoff’s Aleko with Vocal Arts.
