My close friend Adam and I came up with Grimeology when we were freshman year roommates as an outlet for our music as well as a reaction to the stale state of popular music at the time. Over the last few years, we have watched it transform from a mere idea into a tangible reality. The music is very close to me in one way or another, since I have either had a hand in making it or am a big fan of it. As a result, the visual inspiration I get when listening to a Grimeology recording is much greater than that of any other kind of music. Grimeology is more than a mere business venture or school project - it's something much more personal. It allows me to establish dialogues on many different levels from the art to the music, the music to the listener, the viewer to the art, me to the viewer, the art to the world. It all eventually comes back around full circle.
