Coral

Porous sea rod

Sparsely branching. Firm but flexible , many holes for polyps. Found outer reefs

(BIOS)

Bent sea rod

            Most common rod and found in shallow reefs. Branching is tree like.

 

Dark sea rod

            Found on rim reef and beyond. Very stout branches.

Purple Sea Fan

            Fan shape piece of coral, purple. Orinate themselves so surge strikes road side

Ellipical Star Coral

Massive starlet coral

Lesser starlet coral

    Domed colonized characterized by star shaped star shape.

Common brain coral

            Resembled exposed brain. Yellowish and grow as hemispheres

Double-ridge brain coral

            Similar to common except ridges have grooved down in the middle

Great star coral

            Greenish color with large polyps. Leave star shape when dead. Related to small star coral

Small star coral

            More abundant then great star coral also yellow and have smaller polyps.

Mustard Coral

            Bright mustard yellow color. Small polyps. Surface covered with smallish bumps
