To find my results I snorkeled around four different bays: Cooper's Island, John Smith's Bay, Tobacco Bay, and Whalebone Bay. Because I did not have anything to write on while I was in the water I needed to come up with a way to be able to remember how many brain corals I saw that was diseased. I came up with the strategy of choosing ten brain corals at random that were all relatively close to each other and counting which ones appeared to be diseased. This way I only had to remember a couple of numbers, so when I got out of the water I could write them down quickly. I also tried to remember if there was any active Black Band Disease that I could notice. While in the water a classmate and I collected water samples in tubes to bring back to Clark and have tested at a later date.
