About the Author
In the typical college fashion, this webpage (my first ever!) is being completed hours before it is due. I am a senior evolution and ecology biology major hoping to graduate this May (2005). Although originally from Hartford, Connecticut, I am hoping to stay in the Worcester area after graduation provided I figure out what I want to do when I “grow up.”
The Ecology of Atlantic Shores course is a research based course offered every other fall semester and includes a trip to Bermuda where we stay at the Bermuda Biological Station for Research. This particular trip was unique since the Disease Vector group, which I am also a part, accompanied the Atlantic Shores class. This afforded me the opportunity to ride a moped across the island in a hurricane. Although some claim it was only a tropical storm, I would like to point that I was blown off the road, thus making it a hurricane since the winds must have been greater than 74 miles per hour. The meteorologists at the weather channel seem to disagree since they named it tropical storm “Nicole,” but I will know the truth.

This great picture was taken by Professor Todd Livdahl who titled it; "Typical behavior of Jarad." I would like to point out that I often sleep on my stomach or even sitting upright in chairs.
