Overview
In total 60 Diploria strigosa coral heads were counted, 47 at John Smith Bay and 13 at Natural Arches. Combining the data from both locations, white patches were the most prevalent form of death found (15 corals), with algae overgrowth (4 corals) and black band disease (2 corals) consecutively. There was little difference between the average amount of damage caused by BBD, white patches, or algae overgrowth.  A maximum of 75 percent death was found at John Smith Bay, with the minimum being 1 percent at both locations.  However, more precise measurements rather than relative estimation should be taken in future studies.  Overall 35 percent of the coral observed was inflicted with some type of disease or displayed signs of past death.

Chi Square Test for Site Differences
A chi square contingency test with a 0.05 level of significance was performed against the locations and type of D. strigosa found.  At John Smith Bay 25.5 percent were found diseased, while Natural Arches showed 69 percent.  Yates' correction for continuity was implemented since a low number of corals were observed at Natural Arches.  The p value of .009 showed significant difference between sites.  Since no other measurements were taken at the sites during observations no definite reasons for the difference can be concluded, only that the difference is not by chance.
