| Species and Cultivars Due to its showy flowers and
relatively easy care, the Hibiscus is used primarily as an
ornamental plant. Whether it is grown as a hedge, flush
against a wall, or as a solitary plant both indoors and
outdoors, the hibiscus will add a splash of color and vitality
in any location. However, there many species that have
found practical uses as well, in locations varying from the
Americas, to Africa, Australia and New Zealand, as well as
certain Asian countries. This section highlights some of
the more well known species of Hibiscus and gives a short
description and image (if available) of each type of plant.
