1. Please describe your present professional position (ie: your responsibilities, the mission of the organization, how it relates to your field of study).
I am the Program Officer at Oxfam Great Britain for the “Right to be Heard” Programme. I’m responsible for the implementation of the Improving Government Socio-Economic Planning for Poverty Reduction program and Enhancing Local People’s Participation in Government Policies and Development Activities program. Other responsibilities include:
- Managing program activities including supervision, monitoring and evaluation of the implementation and quality of the program activities.
- Providing technical assistance in planning, budgeting, developing activities, implementations methodologies, designing baselines and impact evaluation.
- Ensuring quality of consultancies’ work.
- Reviewing reports from partners including financial reports and activities reports.
2. What do you find satisfying about your position?
I can contribute my knowledge, skills, expertise to the development of my country. I can apply knowledge and skills I leaned from the IDSC master’s program at IDCE, short trainings and other working experiences into my career. I also like the challenges of the job.
3. How did the program at Clark University help to prepare you?
It provided me with good analytical skills.
4. Why should prospective students enroll in that particular program at Clark University?
Students are able to get a close attention from faculty and professors. The program also has a great combination of theory and skills/practical courses.
5. What was the topic of your research while at Clark University?
The availability and accessibility of HIV/AIDS information, education and communication activities.
