Two GISDE students - Victor Gutierrez Velez and Neeti Neeti - presented their master's thesis projects on Friday, August 17, 2007.
Neeti earned her masters and bachelors of Science degrees in Mathematics from Banaras Hindu University in India. She worked for the Indian Department of Space, which is the primary Federal institution for Space Research in India. Then she joined the GISDE masters program at Clark University. She started her Ph.D. program in Geography in Fall 2007 at Clark University. Her advisors are Ron Eastman and John Rogan.


Victor Hugo Gutierrez Velez is a Forest Engineer from the National University of Colombia where he worked as adjunct professor and associate researcher after graduating from there. He is a founding member of the Research Center on Ecosystems and Global Change in Colombia, where he is the Executive Director. Victor began his Ph.D. program in Geography at the University of Maryland. His research focuses on carbon dynamics and land change modeling in tropical forests.
