Community Engagement and Volunteering

Clark students out in the community

Community Partners

The Community Engagement Office is committed to creating and supporting mutually beneficial partnerships with non-profit and government organizations that provide opportunities for students to increase awareness and knowledge of, and skills for, engaged global citizenship. Building on Clark’s long commitment to the neighborhood, our primary focus is in the Main South neighborhood of Worcester and supporting the goals of the University Park Partnership. The office is located within the LEEP Center at Clark University.

There are multiple ways to engage students in your organization, most notably through volunteer and internship opportunities. In addition, the Community Engagement Office also coordinates the Community-Based Student Employment program, which places undergraduate students at local organizations as a way to work and earn their work-study allocation.

The Community Engagement Office provides several opportunities for nonprofit and government organizations to connect with the campus community and recruit students. The annual Community Engagement & Internship Fair, held in the beginning of the fall semester, hosts over 25 local organizations to facilitate connections between local organizations and students. External organizations can also create an account in the Clark Recruiter, an online database that we use to post all employment, intern, and volunteer positions. In addition, the LEEP Center advertises new positions and opportunities through the LEEP Center’s various social media and communication tools.

If you are not sure what type of student support your organization needs or if you want to discuss options for connecting or recruiting students, please contact the Community Engagement Office and we are happy to talk with you.

If you are a non-profit organization and would like to submit a specific request for volunteers, please fill out our community partner form and a member of the Community Engagement Office will contact you.
