Volunteering: Fiat Lux ArchivesProjects 2009There were 20 members of Fiat Lux in the 2008-2009 academic year. Fiat Lux members continued to organize four successful Blood Drivesfor the American Red Cross Blood Bank. The group also raised close to $1,000 for the American Cancer Society through our participation in the Daffodil Days fundraiser in March. A few of the organizations where individual members completed their required service hours this year include St. Peter's Mentoring Program, Youth Outreach Worcester, All Kinds of Girls and Woodland Academy. 2008-2009 members of Fiat Lux: Jaime Adler, Robin Barron, Christopher Bidorini, Colleen Biggins, Allison Bowhers, Eva Brandon, Jeffrey Chang, Rob Donnelly, Janette Ekanem, Genna Farley, Sarah Goreham, Emma Hyatt, Emily Levesque-Gottlieb, Maddy Mitchell, Billie Nachlis, Annette Nelkenbaum, Rebecca Ann Schulman, Ryan Smith, Bonnie Unger, and James Wilson. Projects 2008There were 21 members of Fiat Lux this year and they had significant accomplishments. Our annual Blood Drives were the most successful in Clark history, thanks to the leadership of Fiat Lux member Christina Herron. Fiat Lux raised over $1,000 in our 2nd year of participating in the Daffodial Days fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Sara Koehring was the project leader for Daffodil Days this year. In March, Erica Richmond and Joel Kolkmann organized a book drive for the Worcester Public Schools. This was done in collaboration with the Give-A-Book drive sponsored by Worcester City Council members. The following 2008 graduates were members of the Fiat Lux Honor Society: Sarah Abrams, Lily Acunzo, Hapsari Brotoisworo, Erin Burns-Maine, Danielle Center, Julia Charvat, Dan DeSantis, Sara Fealhaber, Caitlin Hanson, Christina Herron, Sehar Mahmood, Sara Koehring, Joel Kolkmann, Sarah Milardo, Lauren Miller, Bridget Millman, Georgiana Mora, Monica Piedrahita, Kate Rafey, Erica Richmond, Emily Zoback. Projects 200716 members were selected for membership from the Class of 2007. In addition to the annual Blood Drives, Fiat Lux members worked with Habitat, participated in the Daffodil Days Fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and baked pies for Jeremiah's Inn. Garrett Abrahamson, Abigail Crowley, Emily Lescak, Callie Osborne, and Bethany Williard were the Steering Committee members for this year. Projects 2006There were 26 members of Fiat Lux this year. The projects included working with Habitat for Humanity, sponsoring four campus blood drives, trick-or-treating with kids from a local shelter, and holding a holiday toy drive to benefit AIDS Project Worcester. The Fiat Lux Steering Committee included Ben Monahan-Estes, Troy, Hill, Kimberly Georgoulis, Magnolia Turbidy, and Alex Kelly. |
