The Clark University motto — "Challenge Convention. Change Our World." — can sound daunting at times. There is ambition in that goal, even a hint of audacity.
But for Clarkies, that's a good thing. We are a community of creative thinkers who are eager to challenge conventional wisdom, devise forward-thinking solutions to complex problems and roll up our sleeves to get things done. We are not overwhelmed by the prospect of initiating change — we embrace it. And we do so because we are driven by causes. It's why we fight injustice, adopt innovative business practices, and work to heal the environment.
Our six-week "Who Says You Can't?" campaign is asking Clarkies to support their alma mater through six world-changing causes that are part of the University's DNA — areas of engagement where we see the status quo and say, "We can do better."
Each week for six weeks, beginning tomorrow, Clark will highlight an alumnus/a or a faculty member who is making a difference in areas including urban education, international development, the new economy, sustainability, Holocaust and genocide studies, and the arts.
Your gift will help ensure that Clark continues to make an impact — whether it's nurturing the planet or nourishing the soul.
Keep up with Clark’s “Who Says You Can’t?” stories through our social media channels.
We may have a thousand different personal causes, but Clark University will always be the one cause that unites us. Are you in?
