Faculty/Staff/Administrator Mentor Program
2006-2007
Goals:
• Provide opportunities for our student-athletes to form relationships with faculty/staff/administrative members throughout the Clark community outside of the traditional classroom setting.
• Provide another level of support for the student and his/her efforts to excel in both his/her academic and athletic endeavors.
• Provide an opportunity for faculty/staff/administrator to strengthen their connections to the Clark student body.
• Strengthen the connection between athletics and the greater Clark community.
Based upon the time and interest of the individual, potential ways to interact with the team could include:
• Attending a practice and/or game
• Attending a team dinner
• Having lunch with the captains and/or other players in small groups
• Identify a home game that faculty could be invited to attend preceded or followed by a small reception (teams with a faculty advisor would have $25 to purchase light refreshments).
• Sharing whatever your particular area of expertise is with the team through informal discussions or perhaps a presentation
• Be willing to provide guidance/assistance if there is something a student might have a question about
• Encourage other faculty members to interact with the team informally as well
