R. Evan Davis is in his sixth season as head coach of Clark's men's lacrosse program. In 2006, Davis led the Cougars to a program-best seven wins. He is looking forward to building the men's lacrosse program into one of the top programs in the Pilgrim League. In the summer of 2005, Davis was selected by U.S. Lacrosse to be a team coach at the 2006 World Lacrosse Team Tryouts. Davis also coached the Massachusetts Central Bay States Lacrosse Team and is currently the Pilgrim League representative to the STX All-America selection committee.
Davis brings to Clark a wealth of lacrosse knowledge that includes serving on the World Lacrosse Team selection-coaching staff, as assistant coach and defensive coordinator at Marymount University, Va., playing for the powerhouse high school Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, N.Y., and starting the lacrosse club team at Gettysburg College. He went on to play for the post-collegiate level Team AOL in the American Lacrosse League. In addition, Davis co-directed the 2004 STX Camp in Orlando, Fla., and Buzzards Bay, Mass., instructed the 2002 TK Lacrosse Camp in Manassas, Va., and coached the McLean Youth Lacrosse Club in 2002. Davis is co-director of the Blackstone Valley Men’s Lacrosse League, held on Clark’s campus every summer.
Davis, a 1996 graduate of Gettysburg College, earned his bachelor’s degree in business management and marketing. He received his Masters in Management from the University of Phoenix in the spring of 2006. He previously worked as a lobbyist and marketing consultant in the Washington, D.C. area. Davis and his wife, Kristina, reside in Waltham, Mass.
Assistant Coach, Matt DeLuca
Matt DeLuca was named an assistant coach in the summer of 2005. DeLuca a 2004 graduate of
Drew University was a three-year starter at attack and midfield for the Rangers. He most recently
served as an assistant coach at his alma matter Ashland High School where he helped direct the team
to a 9-9 record and an appearance in the playoffs for the first time since 2000. As a three-year
starter at midfield for Ashland he was an All-Metro-Central League All-Star and Eastern Mass All-
Star in 2000. DeLuca will serve as the offensive coordinator for the Cougars.
Assistant Coach, Dave Breglio '07
Breglio begins his first season on the sidelines for the Cougars. A four-year lacrosse player and three-time captain, Breglio was the team's defensive leader and started every game since his freshman year. He helped lead Clark to the most wins (7) in school history in 2006 and ranks second all-time with 188 career ground balls. Coach Breglio will be working with the defense and goalies this season.
