Roderigue Named NEWMAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week
WORCESTER, MASS. 11/27/07 - Clark Universitys Sarah Roderigue has been named the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) womens basketball Player of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Originally from Oakland, Me., Roderigue averaged 20.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists to lead Clark to a 3-0 record. The junior forward notched her first double-double of the season with a 19 point, 11 rebound effort in a 79-68 victory over Johnson and Wales University last Tuesday. She had 22 points, shooting 9-11 from the field, with eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a pair of blocks in the Cougars win over Worcester State College (69-46) in the Worcester City Tip-Off Tournament opener. Roderigue, who was named the Tournament MVP, registered 21 points and six boards en route to a 57-47 victory against WPI and Clark's 11th title in the past 12 years and 18th total championship.
Clark will try to remain unbeaten when they travel to Connecticut College today (7 p.m.).
