Blake Named to NFHCA All-Region Team
WORCESTER, MASS. 11/12/07 - Clark Universitys Lauren Blake has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) New England East All-Region team, it was announced on Monday. It marked the sophomore forwards first time on the All-Region squad.
A first-team regional selection, Blake led the team in scoring with 17 goals, eight assists for 42 points, just four points shy of the single season points record set by Laura Stuto 93. In regular season play, the Oakland, Me., native, finished first in points per game (2.47) and third in goals (1.00) in the New England Womens and Mens Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and ranked in the top-15 nationally in points per game (11th) and goals per game (15th). Blake collected five multiple goal scoring games, including a career-high four-goal effort in a victory over Regis College earlier this season.
She was also named to the NEWMAC All-Conference second team this fall.
