Men Swimmers Sink Elms College

WORCESTER, MASS. 11/07/07 - Junior Drew Jackson (Chestertown, Md.) and sophomore Taylor Morono (New London, N.H.) each captured a pair of wins to lead the Clark University men’s swim and dive team to a 84-61 dual meet victory over Elms College at the Kneller Athletic Center Pool on Wednesday evening.

Clark improves to 2-1 overall, while Elms dips to 0-1.

The Cougars dominated the meet, winning six of nine individual events.

Jackson won the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:16.99) and the 100-yard backstroke (1:01.30), while Morono took first in the 50- and 100-yard free in times of 24.08 and 53.66, respectively. Other top finishers for Clark included sophomore Curtis Reid (Shrewsbury, Mass.) in the 200-yard freestyle (2:01.04) and first-year Dan Howard (Bow, N.H.) in the 100-yard butterfly (59.71).

The Clark men’s and women’s swim and dive team will compete in a dual-meet against Bridgewater State College on Saturday (2 p.m.).
