Murray Leads Women's Soccer Past Coast Guard, 3-0

NEW LONDON, CONN.- Freshman Julie Murray (Millbury, Mass.) had two goals leading Clark to a 3-0 win over Coast Guard in a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game, the regular season finale for Clark and final game of the season for Coast Guard.

Murray opened the scoring in the 11th minute with senior Liz Adamcik (Northampton, Mass.) assisting for the Cougars (7-8-2, 4-5).

Junior Heather Winn’s (Salem, Mass.) goal in the 41st minute gave the Cougars a 2-0 lead as sophomore Charlotte Bowman assisted.

Murray had the only goal of the second half in the 52nd minute with sophomore Jess Mirkin (Wellesley, Mass.) adding the assist.

Clark outshot Coast Guard 18-3.

Sophomore Joanna Clark (Windham, Me.) made three saves to record her fourth shutout of the season. Coast Guard (1-15, 0-9) junior Trish Ohle made 10 saves.

Clark earns the sixth seed in the upcoming NEWMAC Tournament and will face third seed Babson College on Saturday (TBA).
