Field Hockey Routs Regis, 11-0
WORCESTER, MASS. 09/18/07 - The Clark University field hockey team erupted for eight first-half goals on the way to an 11-0 non-conference rout over Regis College on Tuesday at Granger Field.
With the victory, Clark improves to 3-2 on the season. Regis drops to 0-7.
Sophomore Lauren Blake (Oakland, Me.) scored four goals and junior Madeleine Henefield (Pelham, Mass.) had three goals to lead the Cougars. Sophomores Chelsea Proulx (Franklin, N.H.), Precious RaAkbar (Baltimore, Md.), Lauren DeMetro (Summit, N.J.) and first-year Elizabeth Hattenburg (Worcester, Mass.) each tallied single goals in the victory. It was RaAkbar and Hattenburgs first collegiate goal and DeMetros first tally of the season. Senior Brooke Osgood (Clifton Park, N.Y.) finished with three assists.
Sophomore Kathryn Dawsey (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) was not tested in goal as Clark outshot Regis, 37-0.
Regis goalkeeper Kristin Tavares had a busy day in goal with 19 saves.
Clark will travel to nationally ranked Williams College on Thursday (7 p.m.).
