Men's Novice Four Finish First at New Hampshire Championships

PEMBROKE, N.H. 10/17/06 – The Clark University men’s novice four earned its inaugural first place finish at the New Hampshire Championships on the Merrimack River last Saturday. In the seven-boat event, the team of Elena DeStefano, Nicky Boyne, Wes Dunkel, Andrew Gager, and Mike Haride took the gold-medal in a time of 17:02. Other Cougar crews included the men’s novice eight, who finished 14th in a time of 17:59, while the men’s open eight placed 27th (21:24). The men’s varsity four took 25th (18:47). On the women’s side, the novice eight finished ninth (22:00), while the varsity eight A and varsity eight B placed 18th (18:22) and 24th (21:24) respectively. The Clark crew will return to the water next Saturday when they compete at the Head of the Charles in Boston, Mass.
