Men's Soccer: Cougars Keep Rollin' With 5-0 Win

Worcester, Mass. - Five different Clark players scored goals as the host Cougars ran their record to 9-3-1 with a convincing 5-0 win over visiting Johnson & Wales in non-conference men's soccer action on Wednesday evening at Granger Soccer Field.

The win also wraps up Clark's non-conference slate at 8-1 and pushes their home record to 7-0-1 with one game left in the regular season on their home field. Meanwhile, the Cougars' unbeaten streak moves to five with them having outscored their opponents 11-3 during the run.

Sophomore Adrian Blackadar (Warwick, R.I.) got the Cougars off and running less than three minutes into the contest when he found the back of the net for an early Clark lead. The second goal came courtesy of a penalty kick by Tim Doenmez (Dublin, N.H.) at 19:26.

Mike Trobagis (Acton, Mass.) banged home his team-leading eighth goal of the season at 23:20 to give the Cougars a commanding 3-0 lead heading into intermission.

Freshman Shadoe Hanson (Kingston, Jamaica) got in on the act in the 72nd minute when Kenny Howard (Longmeadow, Mass.) fed him a pass as he broke through and beat Wildcat goalkeeper Joe Ferraro on a low shot going left.

Greg Jancarik (Swansea, Mass.) capped the scoring with his second goal in the last three games with help from Jeremy Radovsky (San Francisco, Calif.).

Clark netminders Ryan King (Brimfield, Mass.) and Baran Cansever (Southboro, Mass.) split time in goal and neither had to make a save to earn the shared shutout.

The Cougars peppered Ferraro (four goals allowed, seven saves) and his backup Sean Dorsey (one goal allowed, no saves) to the tune of 26 shots, while Johnson & Wales could only muster two shots for the game - both coming in the second half.

Clark returns to action on Saturday for a key home NEWMAC matchup with Wheaton - the fourth ranked team in New England.
