Men's Soccer: Trobagis Sparks Cougars To 3-1 Win

New London, N.H. - Mike Trobagis (Acton, Mass.) scored two goals and assisted another to lead Clark past Colby-Sawyer 3-1, in a non-league men's soccer match Wednesday evening.

The first half began well for the host Chargers with freshman James Longe (Richford, Vt.) giving Colby-Sawyer a 1-0 lead at 21:36. Fellow freshman Ryan Bernstein (Newtown, Pa.) entered the box on the right side of the net and found the foot of Longe holding in the middle and was able to quickly flick the ball past the keeper for the goal.

Clark responded 11 minutes later with the equalizer when Trobagis found junior Tim Doenmez (Dublin, N.H.) breaking through the defense at 32:58.

The Cougars continued to pepper the net for the remainder of the first 45 minutes and were rewarded with seconds to go before intermission. Trobagis received a pass from senior Jeremy Radovsky (San Francisco, Calif.) and was able to slide the ball into the bottom left corner of the net to give Clark a 2-1 advantage.

Trobagis added to his stellar play with a second goal 13 minutes into the second half to seal the victory for Clark.

Colby-Sawyer goalie Chris Feltes (Manchester, N.H.) made nine saves in the loss, while Clark keeper Ryan King (Brimfield, Mass.) was not tested often making only one save.

The Cougars (2-1) return to action on Saturday when they host Brandeis at 2:30 p.m.
