Men's Tennis Sweeps Anna Maria College, 9-0
WORCESTER, MASS. 04/13/09 - The Clark University men's tennis team snapped a four-game losing slide with a 9-0 shutout win over Anna Maria College in a non-conference match held at Corash Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars improve to 3-6 overall, while Anna Maria dipped to 1-7 on the season.
Senior Ben Gross (Newton, Mass.) and sophomore Aaron Chin (Hong Kong, China) won at both singles and doubles. The duo teamed up to post an 8-0 victory at number one doubles, and went on to blank their opponents, 6-0, 6-0, at top and second singles, respectively.
Sophomore Marcus Abramson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) claimed his first career singles victory, shutting out his opponent (6-0, 6-0) in the fifth slot. Abramson and sophomore Matt Finley (Acton, Mass.) also paired up to capture their first doubles victory of the year at No. 3 (8-1).
Clark will conclude its three-match home-stand with Gordon College on Wednesday (4 p.m.).
