Men's Tennis Falls to Springfield College, 8-1

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. 04/8/09 - Seniors Rocco Li and Socheata Ly prevented the sweep with a win at No. 2 doubles in Clark University's New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) men's tennis match at Springfield College on Wednesday afternoon. The Cougars fell, 8-1, to the Pride.

With the loss, Clark dropped to 2-4 overall and 0-2 in league play. Springfield improved to 5-4 and 1-2 in the NEWMAC.

Li and Ly posted a 9-7 victory over Springfields Tim Tunis and Bobby Schlink.

Senior Ben Gross held the closest singles match of the day, falling to Trevor Romanzi in a tiebreaker set, 7-6 (5), 7-2.

Clark will host Babson College on Friday (4 p.m.).
