Men's Tennis Slips Past Emerson College, 5-4

WORCESTER, MASS. 03/31/09 - Clark University edged Emerson College, 5-4, in non-conference men's tennis action on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars raise their overall record to 2-3. Emerson drop to 5-5 on the year.

Emerson took an early lead after sweeping doubles play, but Clark won five of six singles matches to come away with the victory.

Senior Adam Bisceglia (North Granby, Conn.) won his match at top singles, 7-5, 6-3, while senior Ben Gross (Newton, Mass.) made a comeback in the second slot, posting a 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 win. Sophomore Rob Schmidt (Douglaston, N.Y.) remained undefeated at 2-0 with his 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6.

Clark will host Babson College on Saturday (2 p.m.).
