Men's Tennis Drops NEWMAC Opener to Coast Guard

NEW LONDON, CONN. 03/28/09 - The Clark University men's tennis team was defeated by Coast Guard Academy, 8-1, in its New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) opener on Saturday afternoon.

The Cougars dipped to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in league play. Coast Guard improved to 5-4 (1-0 NEWMAC).

Senior Socheata Ly (Lexington, Mass.) was the only winner for Clark. He beat the Bears' Tim Ozimek (Silverdale, Wash.) 6-2, 6-1 at No. 6 singles.

Clark will play at Western New England College on Monday (3 p.m.).
