NCAA Swim & Dive Championships: Garcia Earns All-America Honors

MINNEAPOLIS, MINN. 3/18/09 - Clark University's Eileen Garcia turned in a solid performance in her first trip to the NCAA Division III swimming and diving championships at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center on Wednesday.

The freshman diver earned All-America honors with her eighth place finish on the 3-meter diving board. Garcia, who was Clark's first diver to qualify for nationals in 10 years, accumulated 385.00 points in the event. Representing the University at the 1999 national meet, Meghan Farmer '98 took 21st on the 3-meter board.

Garcia, a New York, N.Y. native, holds Clark records in both the 3-meter (439.45) and the 1-meter (442.60) diving events. She will conclude her NCAA trip with a performance on the 1-meter board on Friday, March 20.
