Women's Basketball Snaps Losing Skid with Win over Ohio Northern

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. 12/30/08  Clark University used a balanced attack to post a 75-68 victory over Ohio Northern University in the second game of the women's basketball Land of Magic Classic in Daytona Beach, Fla., on Tuesday morning.

Clark, which snapped a five game losing skid, improved to 4-6 overall. Ohio Northern fell to 5-6.

Five players scored in double-figures for Clark. Sarah Roderigue (Oakland, Me.) notched 17 points, including four three-pointers; Ivori Aiken (Harlem, N.Y.) had 15 points and a career-high 14 rebounds; Jillian Camilleri (Lancaster, Mass.) and Kate Minister (Manchester, England) added 12 points each, and Sara Hagstrom (Yarmouth, Me.) finished with 10 points and eight assists.

Ohio Northern was led by Alisha Rinehart (Lima, Ohio) with 20 points, while Megan Porter (Dayton, Ohio) contributed with 12.

Clark raced out to a 20-4 lead on a trey by Minister and built a commanding 40-17 half-time advantage.

Ohio Northern outscored the Cougars, 51-35, in the second half, but could not overcome the deficit.

Clark shot 38.6 percent from the field, but were outrebounded, 51-46.

Clark will return to its northern slate on Wednesday, January 7 at Babson College at 7:30 p.m.
