Men's Soccer: Wise Named to NSCAA All-New England Team
WORCESTER, MASS. 12/11/08 - Clark University's Peter Wise has been named to the 2008 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Adidas NCAA Division III All-New England second team, it was announced on Thursday.
Originally from Providence, R.I., Wise, the Cougars' starting goalkeeper, also capped his career with a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) first-team selection. He topped the league in goals against average (.66), save percentage (.846) and tied for second in shutouts (.44) with a career-high eight. The team's lone captain also held half of the NEWMAC scoreless, en route to finishing in the top-three in all six goalie categories in conference-only statistics.
This is Wise's first appearance on the NSCAA All-Region team. It marks the third time in four years a Cougar men's soccer player has received the honor. Former players David Blum '07 and Matt Talbot '06 were NSCAA All-New England picks in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
Wise is a two-time All-NEWMAC All-Star.
Clark (11-5-2) qualified for its first NCAA Tournament in 21 years this fall.
