Cross Country Competes at Tri-State Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I. 10/4/08 - The Clark University men's cross country team placed seventh, while the women's team also finished seventh in the Tri-State Cross Country Invitational.

The Cougar men finished with 178 points. And the Clark women finished not too far behind with 155 points.

Senior Caleb Evanter zipped by for Clark snatching sixth place (28:15.36) in the men's 8K. Junior Martin Leggett placed 35th (30:22.71), while teammates Cory Leonard, a graduate student, took 39th (30:24.84). Meanwhile, sophomores Robert Naughton and Patrick O'Neil placed 51st (30:50.75) and 79th (32:47.91), respectively.

For the women's 5k, Kaitlyn Sephton, a senior, placed 17th in a time of 27.36.99. Junior Emma Siemasko took 22nd (22:19.64); not far behind were sophomore Andrea DeRocco in 39th (23:31.58) and senior Alexandra Casey 40th (23:35.72). First-year Katelin Wolfinger was 48th (24:43.29).

Meghan Woods of WPI won first place (20:04.57) and Chris Mason captured the title for Suny Delhi (26:52.71).
