Volleyball Falls to Wellesley College
WORCESTER, MASS. 10/14/08 - The Clark University Cougars dropped to 7-10 overall with a 3-0 loss to Wellesley College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's volleyball game played on Tuesday at the Kneller Athletic Center. Game scores were 25-17, 25-15, and 25-18.
Clark fell to 1-5 in the NEWMAC. Wellesley, which extended its winning streak to three games, upped its record to 17-4 overall and 5-1 in conference play.
Sophomore Victoria Peng (Diamond Bar, Cali.) led the Blue offense with 33 assists and eight service aces, while senior Emily Peters (Temescal Valley, Pa.) had 13 digs to pace the visitors defense.
Clark was led by first-year Parker Edmonds (Fort Worth, Tex.) with four kills and two blocks and junior Emily Visone (West Hempstead, N.Y.), who finished with nine digs.
The next game for both teams will be against non-conference opponents, as Wellesley plays hosts Bridgewater State College on Friday (5 p.m.) and Clark entertains UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday (Noon).
