Women's Soccer Edged by Babson College, 1-0

BABSON PARK, Mass. - Clark University women's soccer dropped its second straight New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) game with a tough 1-0 loss to Babson College on Saturday at Hartwell-Rogers Field. With the loss, Clark moves to 5-6, 2-2 in the NEWMAC, while Babson improves to 6-3-4, 2-0-2 in league play.

Babson senior tri-captain Jackie Graham (Winchester, Mass.) scored the only goal of the game to help lead the Beavers to victory.

Graham's goal came in the 25th minute of the play when there was a scramble in front of the net between Babson sophomore Patty Pytlik (Wellesley, Mass.) and Clark goalkeeper Joanna Clark (Windham, Maine). Pytlik was able to knock the ball free to Graham who scored in the open net for the lone goal of the game.

The Clark backfield held the Beavers to that single goal the remainder of the game.

Babson sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Macary (Woodbury, Conn.) also played the entire game for the Beavers but was not called upon to make any saves. Clark goalkeeper Joanna Clark made eight saves for the Cougars, six of which came in the second half.

The Beavers return home on Tuesday, October 14th for another NEWMAC contest against Wheaton College at 3:30 pm. Clark also continues NEWMAC play Tuesday when they visit Smith College for a 4:00 pm game.
