Lennon Earns Field Hockey NEWMAC Player of the Week Honors

WORCESTER, MASS. 09/30/08 - Clark University's Meghan Lennon has been named the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) field hockey player of the week, it was announced on Tuesday.

Originally from Charlton, Mass., Lennon tallied 11 points on five goals and an assist in a 2-0 week for Clark. The first-year forward notched a hat-trick in last Saturday's 5-2 win over Anna Maria College. Earlier in the week, she added two goals in the Cougars' 3-0 victory over Regis College. Lennon, who transitioned from a defender to the front-line in her first season, tops the team in scoring with five goals and three assists.

Clark (4-4) will open its NEWMAC slate against WPI on Saturday (1 p.m.).
