Lindsten and McGrath Named Women's Soccer Assistants
Worcester, MA - Clark University women's soccer coach Joe Brady recently added Rick Lindstena and Holly McGrath to the staff this fall. Lindsten joins Clark's women's soccer program after a one-year stint as the men's soccer goalkeeper coach at Anna Maria College and former varsity girls coach at Wachusett Regional High School (1996-2006), where he was the winningest coach in program history with a 138-54-29 mark.
A three-year varsity player at Quabbin Regional High School, he is still the all-time goals and points leader for the Panthers. Lindsten went on to play one year at Assumption College (1976-77) before being sidelined by a career ending injury.
He will primarily work with the goalkeepers at Clark.
McGrath, from Naugatuck, Conn., played four years for an Assumption team that advanced to a pair of NCAA Regional Tournaments (2004-2005). As one of the backbones of the Greyhounds' defense, she also earned third-team Northeast-10 Conference honors and New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA) first-team accolades.
"Rick has had a lot of coaching experience both at the high school and college level, so his insight will be invaluable," Coach Joe Brady said. "And Holly had a solid career at Assumption. She was a part of some very successful teams, and will be able to share her knowledge as a recent college soccer player."
McGrath graduated in 2007 with a degree in English.
