Volleyball Falls Twice to Cabrini College

Swarthmore, Pa. 09/14/08 - The Clark University women's volleyball team dropped both games to Cabrini College in the finale of the sixth annual Garnet Classic held at Swarthmore College on Sunday. The Cougars fell to Cabrini, 3-0 (25-23, 25-9, 25-17) in the opener, and then lost 3-1 in the consolation match. Game scores were 15-25, 25-10, 16-25, 16-25.

In the opener, rookies Kristin McGinty (Gypsum, Colo.) and Kortney Kelley (Cummaquid, Mass.) finished with five kills and 13 digs, respectively, to lead the Cougars. McGinty also finished with four blocks.

Junior outside hitter Maritza Fair (Bronx, N.Y.) led Clark (3-4) with 13 kills and 10 digs in the second game. Junior Emily Visone (West Hempstead, N.Y.) contributed defensively with a season-high 23 digs, while McGinty added four blocks.

Clark will entertain MIT at the Kneller Athletic Center on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
