DiMarzio Joins Women's Basketball Coaching Staff

WORCESTER, MASS. 07/02/08 - Clark University head women's basketball coach, Pat Glispin, announced the hiring of Nicole DiMarzio as assistant coach for the 2008-09 season.

DiMarzio, a native of Spencer, Mass., was a four-year point guard at David Prouty High School, where she captained the Panthers junior and senior year. The two-time Telegram and Gazette Super-Team member was also a 1,000-point scorer and first-team academic all-state honoree.

"One of my goals was to find a coaching job back at home; some place I was familiar with," said DiMarzio. "To help coach a program you grew up watching is phenomenal. I'm very excited to be home."

DiMarzio played one varsity basketball season at Skidmore College before being sidelined by injuries. That year, she set a record for three-pointers in a game, earned Skidmore Invitational's first-team honors and was selected to the Liberty League's All-Academic team.

DiMarzio went on to serve as a student assistant coach during the 2006-07 campaign at her alma mater. She has also worked camps around the area, including the Sutton High School instructional camp and Holy Cross girl's basketball camp.

DiMarzio graduated from Skidmore College in 2007 with honors and a bachelor's in exercise science. She is currently pursuing her master's in sport pedagogy from Baylor University.
