Hollingsworth Signs with Cape Cod Baseball League

WORCESTER, MASS. 05/09/08 - Clark University's Scott Hollingsworth has signed a temporary contract with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL), it was announced on Friday. The Y-D Red Sox won the CCBL Championship last season.

Originally from Tilton, N.H., Hollingsworth enjoyed a fine freshman campaign with the Cougar baseball squad. The fleet-footed second baseman earned the Cape Cod call after leading both the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) and Clark at the plate with a .388 batting average. Hollingsworth started in 32 of 33 games this spring, topping the squad in hits (47), runs scored (24), triples (4), total bases (65) and slugging percentage (.537). He also collected a team-best 17 multiple hit performances.

The CCBL is an amateur wooden bat league formed in 1885. The 10-team league is primarily comprised of Division I players from around the country.
