Men's & Women's Rowing Open 2008 Season

WORCESTER, MASS. 4/5/08  The Clark University men's and women's rowing teams opened their respective 2008 spring season with a regatta on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., on Saturday afternoon.

The women's varsity eight placed fourth in a time of 7:51.2, beating out fifth place Franklin Pierce University (8:05.3). Simmons College won the event in a time of 7:11.4. Clark's women's varsity four was fifth (9:30.5), while the womens novice four finished fifth (9:57.1).

On the men's side, the Cougar varsity four boat beat out Franklin Pierce for fourth in a time of 7:28.8, while the novice four placed third (9:02.8).

Clark will compete in a regatta on Sunday (10 a.m.).
