Tillo Named NEWMAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

WORCESTER, MASS. 03/17/08 - Clark University's Matt Tillo was selected baseball pitcher of the week by the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC), it was announced on Tuesday.

In two starts, Tillo, from Osterville, Mass., allowed just one run on six hits and struck out 12 batters in 14 innings of work. The junior pitcher tossed a complete game three-hitter in a 1-0 shutout victory over Misericordia College and later hurled seven innings of three-hit ball, striking out 10 batters and issuing just one walk in a 6-1 win over Northland College. He owns a 2-0 mark with a 0.64 ERA.

Clark (6-5) will play its home opener against Wentworth Institute of Technology on Thursday (3 p.m.).
