Field Hockey Honored by NFHCA with Academic Awards
WORCESTER, MASS. 3/12/08 Five Clark University field hockey players were honored by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) with All-Academic accolades on Wednesday. Additionally, the Cougars received the 2007 NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award.
Senior Kate Willis (Lincoln, R.I.) and sophomore Lauren DeMetro (Summit, N.J.) are two-time All-Academic selections, while sophomores Chelsea Proulx (Franklin, N.H.) and Gloria Torres (West Hartford, Conn.) and first-year Katelyn McGrath (Wilmington, Mass.) make their first appearance on the All-Academic squad.
Student-athletes selected to the NFHCA Academic squad have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2007-08 academic year. Teams must hold a 3.0 GPA or higher for the fall 2007 semester to qualify for the NFHCA Academic Team Award.
