CLARK UNIVERSITY WOMEN’S BASKETBALL THINKS PINK
The Clark University women’s basketball team will join the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) “Think Pink” initiative, along with fellow New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) teams and over 800 collegiate institutions across the United States on Wednesday, Feb. 20 (7 p.m.) at the Kneller Athletic Center. “Think Pink” is designed to raise breast cancer awareness around the country.
That evening, Clark will battle Wellesley College on the court, but both teams will participate in the fight against cancer. They have arranged to wear pink shoelaces and referees will sport pink whistles to show their support.
Additionally, members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will distribute pink “Celebrate Courage” bracelets for a suggested $1 donation and throw pink tees in the stands for every made Clark three-pointer. All proceeds will go to a breast cancer research foundation.
The Cougars will not only celebrate “Think Pink” on Feb. 20, but will also honor the seniors for playing in their final home regular season contest. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and take part in this important global movement.
