CLARK magazine earns awards

Fall 2012 cover 1The Clark University alumni magazine has received two awards in the annual Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District I Excellence Awards Contest.

CLARK alumni magazine earned a gold award for best design, and a bronze for best writing for magazines with circulations of 25,000 and above.

“We appreciate the recognition from our peers, and we are honored to tell the Clark story through our magazine,” said Paula David, vice president of marketing and communications at Clark University.

Clark submitted two magazines for judging: the Fall 2012 “Food Issue” included profiles of “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi ’94 and New York Times food writer Mark Bittman ’71, and the Spring 2013 issue featured a cover story on Clark’s climate-change researchers. Jim Keogh is the editor in chief of CLARK alumni magazine, and Kaajal Asher is the designer.

Among other colleges receiving recognition in the magazine writing and design categories were Boston University, Wellesley College, Tufts University and Brandeis University.

CASE District I includes all of New England, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Quebec.

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education is a professional association serving educational institutions and the advancement professionals who work on their behalf in alumni relations, communications, development, marketing and allied areas.
