Given Clark's rich academic tradition, how do you envision your role as a trustee in shaping Clark University's mission in today's changing society?
I am grateful and honored for having been selected by our fellow alumni to run as a Trustee.
As I write this statement, I remember sitting in the Goddard Library about 20 years ago, writing an essay on why I should be selected as a resident adviser. My answer today and back then remains essentially the same: Clark is a unique and special place, and if I can help it to further grow and succeed, I will. Clark should be a University that we would want our children to attend. I would like the opportunity to help Clark provide others with the type of education from which I have benefited in innumerable ways.
As an alum, I was very proud when Clark was noted as one of America's 25 Hot Schools by Newsweek/Kaplan. It was not only well-deserved recognition, but also valuable branding. Clark continues to develop innovative programs such as its new entrepreneurship program. This type of recognition and these types of programs will attract talented high school students to Clark. There are, however, too many students that are not yet aware of Clark. If elected, I would like to focus on the marketing and visibility of our University.
I am well suited to serve on the Board. After Clark, I earned a J.D./M.B.A. From initially practicing securities law to heading up an alternative products group for a major investment firm, and now as a partner and COO of a hedge fund advisory firm; I have had the opportunity to work with many boards.
The opportunity to serve and represent all of you would be a privilege, and I would appreciate your vote.
