Commonly Asked Questions about Life at Clark
Is there a formal orientation for transfer students?
Yes. Orientation for transfer students is partially combined with the first-year student orientation program. However, there are several components geared toward the special interests and concerns of transfers. Orientation starts several days before classes begin each semester, giving new students a chance to meet each other before returning students arrive. During Orientation, new students also meet administrators, peer advisors, and faculty advisors who will acquaint them with social and academic life at Clark. Specific questions about course registration, major requirements, and the transfer credit evaluation (which states how many of a student's courses transfer to Clark) are resolved at this time.
As an older student, will I fit in at Clark?
Yes. Clark continues to enroll a small number of non-traditional students each year. The work and life experience these students bring to classroom discussion and campus life is valued at Clark and considered an important part of the broad learning experience available at Clark.
What is Clark's housing policy for transfers?
Students transferring with first-year or sophomore standing are required to live on campus, unless commuting from home. (Students may commute if they live within twenty-five miles or a thirty-minute drive of Clark.) Clark does not have on-campus housing for married students.
