According to my proposal, the eight weeks I have alotted to Buduburam Refugee Camp is up. It had certainly been a very challenging experience. But I've learned how to speak some of Liberia's Krahn and Gio dialects and make palm butter soup among other things.

I have visited the Kwame Nkrumah mausoleum in Accra. Still to do there are visits to the Padmore Libray, Du Bois Centre, and National Museum. Still on my list outside the capital are the castles at Cape Coast and Elmina, Kumasi- the cultural heartland of Ghana, and perhaps a visit to neighboring Togo where I will meet up with a fellow Clarkie.

It was great being here during the World Cup. I was in Accra when GHana defeated the US and qualified for the second round. THe excitement equalled or surpassed that of when the Red Sox won the World Series.
