MUSC021
- Making Music
This course provides students with the basic creative and analytical tools for making
music and for considering its diverse cultural and societal functions. Music of all
kinds is showcased, from American and European contemporary popular music, to
American Jazz, European avante garde and sacred music. Students learn about
these various styles through hands on classroom activities and they are encouraged
to take part in performance opportunities. This course is recommended for those
with general interest in music, and also functions as an excellent review for those
interested in pursuing music as a major or minor. The course fulfills an aesthetic
perspectives requirement and is a pre-requisite for MUSC 121. Mr. Aylward/Offered every year
