CHEM103
- Accelerated Introductory Chemistry/Lecture, Laboratory
This is a one-semester course for students with a strong background in chemistry who do not need the traditional two-semester sequence. Upon completion of CHEM103, students are eligible to go directly to CHEM131 (Organic Chemistry I), thereby accelerating their program in chemistry by one semester and allowing for additional elective courses during their junior and senior years. Topics include atomic and molecular structure, geometry, bonding, reactions, equilibria, thermodynamics, acids and bases, basic kinetics and stoichiometry. Permission of instructor.
