- Introduction to Modern East Asia/Lecture, Discussion
Surveys modern historical trends in India, China, Japan, Southeast Asia and Korea. Through political biographies, literary selections and general histories, the course compares native traditions, colonial experiences and postcolonial developments in Asia since roughly 1800.
