Erin Barta (IDSC '2014)

Erin Barta (USA) received a B.A. in Political Science at the University of North Dakota, taking English and WGS courses whenever possible. Since coming to Clark, she's focused on matters of "place" as they related to identity (i.e. cultural landscapes), which is the topic of her current MA research. At UND, she was active with peer-service mentoring, the student newspaper, and regional political campaigns. In 2012, she interned with Ashoka Innovators for Public Health in D.C., and is, at present, working alongside the Killdeer Mountain Alliance to rectify the N.D. state documentation of oil-related issues throughout western N.D.'s oil boom corridor.
