Mukesh Subedee (GISDE '2014)

Mukesh Subedee (Nepal) received a M.S. in Computer Science from University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) and B.S. in Computer Engineering from Tribhuvan University, Nepal. After graduating from UNL, he has been working at USGS – Western Fisheries Research Center – in the capacity of researcher and developer. During his graduate studies at UNL, he worked as a teaching and research assistant. After his Engineering degree, he worked as an assistant lecturer at Engineering College in Nepal, where he enjoyed sharing his knowledge with young minds. The experience in USGS has augmented his interest in collection, management, manipulation and representation of spatial data, and their societal, environmental and political implications in policy- and decision-making processes. His research interests are in the field of GIS and spatial analysis, and in using them as tools for disseminating the information for the prediction of future scenarios.
